Welcome to
Living Backwards Medieval Society
The Living Backwards Medieval Society is focused on building a strong historical understanding of the Middle Ages lifestyle, martial and trade skills while including a family and social aspect; we want to successfully bring our knowledge to the public through performances and volunteer work.
We hold regular performances and public events throughout the year, including the Summer tournament (featuring our fully-armoured Knights!) and a high feast in the Fall (featuring period-authentic cuisine and music!), but we also host weekly classes and workshops year-'round to share and teach the diverse arts, crafts, and trades of the era. Leather working, combat, blacksmithing, spinning, wood working, dancing, sewing, camping... We can't say we do it all (there are no burnings of heretics, plagues, or civil uprisings over unfair taxation, sorry...) but we do all the best!
We meet Tuesday nights at 7:30PM.
- During the summer we meet at Centennial Park in Sherwood Park (map).
- During the school months we meet at École Maurice-Lavallée in Edmonton (map).
